志賀高原の入り口上林（かんばやし）でヤマザクラが咲き始めました。
5分咲きといったところですので、来週が見ごろとなりそうです。
志賀高原はさらに標高が上がり、約1000ｍあたりにあるヤマザクラは2分咲きといったところ。
例年よりこちらも2週間ほど早い開花となりました。
ヤマザクラは日本の固有種で山間にぽつぽつと咲く様子はかわいらしくもあり、高原の遅い春を知らせてくれる風物詩となっています。

The Yamazakura (Japanese mountain cherry) have begun to bloom at the entrance of Kanbayashi in Shiga Kogen. They are currently about 50% in bloom, so next week is expected to be the best time to see them. Shiga Kogen, which is at an even higher elevation, has Yamazakura that are located at around 1000m and are about 20% in bloom. The blooming this year is about 2 weeks earlier than usual.

Yamazakura is a native species of Japan, and the scattered blooming in the mountains is both cute and serves as a symbol of the delayed spring in the highlands.
