何度か冬が戻ってきた様な週でした〜

そのおかげで、
❄️ 真っ白な森
✨ 霜に覆われた木々　にも出会えた一週間でした。

ツアーに来てくれたのは本当にさまざま。

🎓 志賀高原でリゾートバイト中の大学生
⛰️ お隣・新潟県から遊びに来てくれたガイド仲間
🥾 「日本の山はだいたい歩きました」というベテラン登山家さん
❄️ 志賀高原歴数十年というご夫婦
🇳🇱 そして、初めて日本に来たというオランダ人カップル

森を歩くと、いろんな“痕跡”が見つかります。

🦌 カモシカの足跡
🐿️ リスの小さな足あと
🐻 木に残されたクマの新しい爪痕
(本人にはまだ会っていません)

🐦 森のあちこちから聞こえる鳥の声
✨ 太陽の光でキラキラ光るツララ

同じ森でも、昨日と今日ではまったく違う景色。
そんな小さな変化を探しながら歩く時間も、スノーシューの楽しみのひとつです。

Snowshoe Tour Highlights | March 8–14 ❄️

Just when spring seemed to be approaching,
winter decided to come back a few times last week in Shiga Kogen.

Which meant we were treated to
❄️ fresh white landscapes
✨ frost-covered trees

Our guests came from all kinds of backgrounds:

🎓 A university student doing a winter resort job in Shiga Kogen
⛰️ A fellow guide visiting from nearby Niigata
🥾 A veteran mountaineer who says he has walked mountains all across Japan
❄️ A couple who have been visiting Shiga Kogen for decades
🇳🇱 And a Dutch couple visiting Japan for the very first time

Walking through the forest, we found all kinds of clues left behind by wildlife:

🦌 Japanese serow tracks
🐿️ Tiny squirrel footprints
🐻 Fresh bear claw marks on trees

(Don’t worry — we didn’t meet the bear.
Everyone involved seemed happy about that.)

🐦 Birdsong echoing through the forest
✨ Icicles sparkling in the sunlight

Even in the same forest,
no two days ever look the same.

And sometimes the best part of snowshoeing
is simply slowing down and noticing these little signs of life.
